These biodegradable bamboo, charcoal water filters slowly filter out impurities such as chlorine and chloramines. The porous surface of the charcoal absorbs these chemicals from the water, and the alkaline qualities also soften and improve the taste.
The filters can also capture moisture and odours from the air, so at the end of their life (approx. 2 months), they can be placed in the fridge to keep produce fresh, or in a mouldy kitchen or bathroom corner to help remove moisture from damp areas. Alternatively, the charcoal can be broken up and put into plants or soil. This helps to control bacteria, improve drainage, and prevent the soil from being too acidic. Once the charcoal has been reused, and is at the end of its life it can be composted.
This reusable cotton bag contains 4 individual charcoal filters, suitable for 1 Litre jug of water.
