A traditional wholefood of the Incas, maca is a root vegetable from the Brassicas (cruciferous) family. This certified organic maca powder is grown and harvested by Indigenous communities in the Peruvian Andes; who have been cultivating and utilising maca for thousands of years. It has been minimally processed - simply dried and ground; and is free of any artificial additives or preservatives. Maca powder is a light fawn colour, with a subtle nutty flavour and aroma, and a soft texture. It is a delicious addition to cold beverages, breakfast dishes and raw food recipes.
